£10,000 Make it Happen Awards

Falkirk Launch

Combined Insurance teamed up with the Falkirk Herald to launch the £10,000 Make it Happen Community Awards give-away on 4th August 2005.

The scheme gives away a share of a £10,000 prize pool to people, groups and charities who want to benefit the community in the Falkirk area.

Later in the year, a panel of judges will decide which of the awards entries are most beneficial to the community and most deserving of the cash, then award winners will be invited to a special award ceremony.

Falkirk Awards Ceremony

The awards ceremony took place on 7th December 2005 and 28 community groups across Falkirk saw their dreams come true, as the Make It Happen scheme shared out £10,000 in an emotional ceremony held at The Inchyra Hotel, Nr Stirling.

Each group was presented with their prize of up to £940 each along with a commemorative plaque by manager of Alex Totten, Director of football at Falkirk FC; Colin Hume, Editor of the Falkirk Herald and Mel Dawson, Combined’s Senior Regional Manager for Scotland.

During the evening every group member made their way to centre stage for a presentation and picture with Alex Totten and Mel Dawson.
