Combined
Insurance has teamed up with the Carlow Nationalist
to launch the €10,000 Make it Happen Community
awards give-away on 30th November 2005.
The scheme gives away a share of a €10,000 prize pool to people, groups and charities who want to benefit the community in the Carlow area.
Later in the year, a panel of judges will decide which of the awards entries are most beneficial to the community and most deserving of the cash, then award winners will be invited to a special award ceremony.
The awards ceremony took place on 5th April 2006 and
community groups across Carlow saw their dreams come
true, as the Make It Happen scheme shared out 20,000
EUR in an emotional ceremony held at The Leinster Suite
Talbot Hotel, Carlow.
Each group was presented with their prize along with
a commemorative plaque by Carlow Football Club’s
Captain Cormac McCarthy, Carlow Football Club’s
Vice-Captain Mark Carpenter; Eddie Coffey and Caoimhe
Nì Mhordha from the Nationalist and John P Hughes
from Combined Insurance.
